Theatre prepares The Dark Side of Disney for Halloween
Just imagine walking through the doors at Inman United Methodist, the strobe lights harshing your vision, the sounds of shrieking and wailing filling your ears.
That is what the theatre group wants to hear coming from those who go through its haunted house: The Dark Side of Disney.
All proceeds will go to the school’s theater department to help fund the spring production of “Into the Woods.”
The Haunted House will be on Oct. 30 and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Oct. 31 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for people 12 and under 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. for people 13 and up.
“Kids will have a hands-on Halloween experience and kids are free! So bring your little siblings for some spooky fun,” theatre teacher Carrie Ameling said.
Visitors will see their favorite childhood characters twisted into a new dark way. Ameling said that this group has an advantage over others.
“One thing we have that many do not is that we have a lot of talented performer, can use acting and stage makeup,” she said.
The show will use strobe lights, so Ameling suggests that people exercise caution.
“I do not recommend anyone one with any type of illness or is pregnant to come,” she said.
In preparation, the theatre group holds meetings almost every Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Inman United Methodist.

“I hope you enjoy the Dark Side of Disney and be sure to support the theater program,” Ameling said.
