The theater department has worked hard this year to prepare for their upcoming performance “Beehive,” but while preparing for the musical this spring, they have also been working hard on perfecting their acts for something else special.

This Saturday, Feb. 4, theatre will host a dinner theatre show. The ticket prices for the show are $10 each, and the money that is raised will help go toward future theatre productions.

Everyone is excited about being able to perform for the people that are attending.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the theater kids and people who aren’t even in the shows perform their talents,” host Ideashua Taylor said.

The show will be filled with two-three hours of talented performers ranging from group acts to solo acts. There will be many different artists whose songs will be performed including Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye and Elvis Presley.

Taylor isn’t only a host; she will also be performing, “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. She is excited for this opportunity and says she’s not really nervous.

“I don’t really have any nerves because I like communicating and talking to people,” she said.

“I just hope I don’t mess up.”

Some of the performers have had their songs picked out and started preparing for a long time.

“I have been preparing since October I would say. I had a long list of songs and just picked my song (recently),” said performer Shy’Asia Lyles.

When it comes to her performance, she said was prepared instead of nervous.

“I’m not really worried about my performance, but I am worried about who’s going to be there,” Lyles said.

The participants are excited to perform for everyone and would love your support.

Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and performances begin at 7 p.m.
