A new perspective on e-learning days
Four years ago, snow days used to be waking up, looking out your window, putting on all our warmest clothing and running out into the snow.
Now snow days are looking out your window, but instead of going outside, we get our Chromebooks out, log into Google Classroom and do what our teachers assigned us.
After COVID-19, the school board is much more willing to call an e-learning day. I can hear the groaning about having to do school work on a snow day, But e-learning days are not all bad; you can stay up late that night and sleep in the next morning.
Another great thing about e-learning days is that you can do whatever you want when you finish your work. You can still go play in the snow in the afternoon.
A struggle with an e-learning day is that you might need help with the content your teacher assigned you, but this shouldn’t be a problem because most teachers have a time when they set up a Google Meet for their students if they need help.
Even though e-learning days are a pain, they are still counted as school days. And if we didn’t have them, we would have to make up for those days from our summer vacation, making our already long Spring semester even longer.
The best part about e-learning days is that you can spend the whole day in your pajamas. There isn’t a dress code when you’re stuck at home on a snow day.
E-learning days are a blessing, and we should be more grateful for staying home and doing all our schoolwork in bed.
