Burrell crowned Miss Panorama
Chapman’s Miss Panorama pageant was held Nov. 7. Junior Lindsey Burrell won the pageant.
Eight contestants participated in the annual event: six seniors, one junior and one freshman.
The six seniors were Tonya Shelest, Haley Gregg, Skylynn Parnell, Mariana Carreno, Lauren Holden and Rosa Ramirez. The junior was Burrell and the freshman was Anna Kate Thornton.
There were four portions in the pageant: introduction, evening gown, talent and questions.
In the introduction portion, the ladies walked out on the the stage in formal clothing and introduced themselves.
After that, they showed their talents.
“I love seeing the girls perform a talent,” senior Berenice Robadan said. “It showed that side of girls that people don’t usually see on a daily base.”
After talent and evening gown, the questions began. Each contestant was asked a question.
Crowning came next. Carreno was 1st Runner-Up, and Gregg was 2nd Runner-Up.
“I’m very excited about winning the pageant,” Burrell said.
Burrell has competed in three other pageants not including Miss Panorama.
Three years ago, she competed in the Miss Mabry Pageant for 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
This past year she competed and won the Miss Lyman Teen Pageant.
She went on to compete in the Miss South Carolina Outstanding Teen pageant this past June.
“I plan to return to the Miss South Carolina’s Outstanding Teen pageant next June!” said Burrell.
