“Spectre” is the best of the Bond films

His name is Bond, James Bond.

Sam Mendes’ “Spectre” is one of the best James Bond movies. The film builds on the past entries and is one of the most action-packed and suspenseful films I have ever seen.

The film picks up sometime after “Skyfall” as James is on the hunt for a suspicious group who has been pulling crimes all around the world and has been causing chaos in Bond’s life since “Casino Royale.”

Daniel Craig returns as James Bond and gives a stellar performance as the agent, proving again that he is one of the best Bonds.

Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista play the villains Franz Oberhauser and Mr. Hinx, respectively, and are formidable opponents for Craig’s Bond.

Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes round out a strong supporting cast.

It’s not merely the on-camera work that is so exceptional in “Spectre.” The theme song by Sam Smith and the music in the film is some of the best music in a 007 film I have ever heard.

This supposedly is Craig’s last film as Bond, and if it is true, it is a fitting ending to the Craig Bond films. It is not merely a great movie but also a loving tribute to past films.

I give “Spectre” 4 stars out of 5.
