Feminism is about gender equality

Feminism is not about cursing men nor is it about starting riots because a woman was not voted president. It is about rejecting the notion that women must stay at home with the children while men becomes CEOs and rule the economy, the country and the world.

Women such as  Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, are raising a new generation of women who can conquer the world and who can redefine what it means to be a woman.

A woman is not a woman for having kids or cleaning the house. Rather, what makes a woman is what she chooses to do. The key word in this scenario is “chooses” because women are free to work in the home, but they cannot be forced to hide in their houses.

What makes someone a feminist?

Feminism is not a trend. It is a response to the catcalls and labels that burden women.

Many women have reached out to put a stop to these harsh ways and even some clothing lines have adopted slogans to help empower women.

Despite its name, feminism is not only for women. Men can be feminists, too, and can do so without questioning their own masculinity.

The goal of true feminism is gender equality. A real feminist — either female or male — knows that to suggest otherwise is to create a power imbalance similar to the one we wish to eradicate.
