Chapman has welcomed many new faces in the halls this school year.
But on the 300 hallway, there’s a familiar one.
Science teacher and football coach Josh Amsler, a 2012 graduate, is now teaching earth science.
“The school seems a little smaller, but I think I’m just taller,” he said.
Amsler’s, a former The Prowl staff member, return to Chapman after teaching at Campobello-Graming School is particularly meaningful because he’s in a room that once belonged to Assistant Principal Amy Driggers, one of Amsler’s former teachers.
“She is one of the ones that inspired me to become a teacher,” he said.
Driggers, who taught Amsler in biology and microbiology, is excited to see him back.
“Mr. Amsler was a fantastic student who loved to learn and be a part of school,” Driggers said.
“Seeing him thrive as an educator in a place where I once taught him is extremely special to me.”
Amsler now helps coach football.
Amsler said he’s glad that he’s back at Chapman.
“I’ve been blessed with good classes and I’m looking forward to more,” he said.
