Pack takes new role as girls tennis coach

Sports have always played a very large role in the career of Chapman High School tennis Coach Rebecca Pack.

Pack has coached several different sports over the years including softball and tennis.

This year, she is taking on both the boys and girls tennis teams.

Pack is excited to see what’s in store for both of the teams, but she has already seen hard work and good values in the just beginning girls tennis season.

“We have a solid foundation of returning players and I am excited about the improvement of players over the summer,” Pack said.

Last year, Pack coached only the boys tennis team, which had a fairly successful season and finished with a winning record.

But there are some new challenges with her coaching both of the teams.

“Last year I was able to do more practice with the boys team, but now time will be limited” she said.

Pack feels as though she can overcome this and she believes that it will make her a better coach all around.

Another one of the setbacks this season is going to be the team moving into a new region, meaning that they may have to face new teams with excellent programs.

Despite these changes, Pack wants her team to succeed.

“My goal this year is to guide us to the playoffs and improve from the year before,” she said.
