People should get off social media and interact in person
Social media is a big distraction in this generation.
From Facebook to Twitter to Instagram Snapchat, etc. it can be fun but only to a certain extent.
Most people only communicate through social media, but believe it or not it’s not healthy.
Social media has become a problem!
When you sit down with your family to eat dinner, there’s usually no talking and phones are out scrolling through the internet. That’s when you know communication verbally doesn’t matter anymore.
All my life, I’ve always wanted to have a Facebook or any other social media site, and then when I was finally old enough to get one, I was on it all the time.
Now that I am older, I see that social media is now bringing people together behind a screen, rather than together in person.
Family time is always great, but when you bring phones you can’t expect nothing to be posted on social media. My family almost always post on social media.
Ever wonder what a world would look like in this generation without social media?
I have.
I wonder how people would come together to communicate. I wonder how we would meet people.
Dating websites have become popular in this generation as well, I wonder what a world would look like if people met in restaurants and public places rather than the internet.
Talking to someone face-to-face is better than talking to someone behind a screen.
Talking behind a screen is harder to understand than face to face. Also, some people are not who they say they are.
That’s why communicating through social media is harder.
What most people don’t understand is that spending time with people when you’re physically with them makes it very special and genuine.
One day that person won’t be there and you’ll regret spending more time on social media rather than spending time with them. We take things for granted because we feel like we will get that opportunity again.
Let’s stop spending so much time on social media that we can’t take a look around at the people and the wonderful things around us, and let’s start coming together to socialize and spend time with those who matter the most.
