Chapman offers after-school dinner program

Chartwells, the company that supplies all of the school lunches, is providing a new after-school dinner program.

Assistant Principal Andrew McMillan is an advocate for the program.

“It was originally a way to feed our athletes before practice, but Chartwells came to us with the idea of trying to feed more students,” McMillan said.

The program is completely free to any student who wishes to come.

“You are not required to sign up or anything,” McMillan said. “Just come in and write your name down in order for Chartwells to record how many students are eating dinner at school.”

He also feels that it gives students a better chance to study at home or work on homework after eating a healthy meal.

If a student is not able to eat in the cafeteria, they have the option to get a bag lunch, also.

“I really enjoy the new dinner program and love having the chance to get something to eat after school,” sophomore Mark Rudisail said.

McMillan said the program will be available for the rest of the school year.
