Repairing a fractured country
The United States is becoming fractured. The nation has become divided because of many different issues.
From the election to immigration, people have drawn lines in the sand and taken their sides on the issues. The divide is widening, and if we don’t stop it, we may stay like this.
I look at the country and see that we are acting hostile towards each other because of our stance on an issue.
The presidential election is one of the issues that has severely splintered our nation. The choice of Clinton or Trump has become one of the hottest topics of divide in our generation. Both candidates have problems that need to be fixed, and if they aren’t then it could severely hurt our nation.
The chasm is widening, and we need to stop it from growing. The idea of a member of a political party speaking out against the candidate for president from his own political party shows that we have a major divide in the U.S.
We need to stop arguing and fighting and try to stop us from splitting even more than we already have. The people of the U.S. need to band together and agree, not bicker and complain about the issues.
Everytime we have had a divide in the U.S. such as Vietnam and The Civil Rights Movement, we have gotten through the issues and banded together again as a nation. The U.S. has faced issues that have divided us and we were able to fix ourselves and close the gap.
As a citizen, I want the nation to be strong and unified not divided. All I want is for us to come together and help close our division before it is too late, and we suffer a crisis that we can’t come back from.
