Have you felt that five minutes just really isn’t enough time to get to your classes?
I have seen students get frustrated with the amount of time we have to get to our classes. In the span of those five minutes, “teachers” expect you to walk to your classes and use the bathroom during that time. For example, let’s say you have to walk from the theater classroom to the math hallway. It is probably going to take you four minutes.
And what if you needed to use the restroom for an additional three minutes? That is Seven minutes to get to your classes and use the bathroom.
We are always expected to use the restroom during class change but sometimes we seriously need more time to. But some teachers will get upset about you not using the bathroom before class. This is an excellent example of why we need more time during class changes.
I have heard from upperclassmen that there used to be an eight-minute passing period during COVID. They would have time to get to their classes and use the restroom. It was much simpler and there were fewer students late to class.
I feel if we bring back the eight-minute passing period, “I feel like” there would be way fewer tardies, and more people would not have to feel rushed trying to get to their classes.
