Homecoming dances are a cherished tradition in American high schools, often portrayed as a rite of passage for upperclassmen. But the question arises: Should freshmen be welcomed at these events? 

In my opinion, the answer is a resounding yes. Grade level should not be a barrier to inclusivity. The argument against welcoming freshmen to homecoming dances often hinges on preserving the exclusivity of these events for older students. 

However, this perspective ignores the very essence of what homecoming represents – a celebration of the entire school community coming together. By welcoming freshmen, we reinforce the idea that all students, regardless of their grade, are an integral part of the school culture. The benefits of inviting freshmen to homecoming dances are numerous.
