Education plays a heavy role in shaping the future of individuals. Teachers who are dedicated to helping students become successful, not just in school but out in the real world, are some of the best teachers to have.
Sundra Proctor-Smith, a first-year teacher at Chapman, is a great example of showing passion and dedication to her students. Proctor-Smith teaches Academic Enrichment, which is a class that covers various subjects and helps students in all of their classes. This class provides students with skills such as time management, proper study skills, and also encourages students to become interested in what they’re learning.
“I enjoy working with others and making sure that I help students get to the next grade level and be successful,” she said.
Proctor-Smith not only wants her students to excel in her class, but she also wants them to become successful individuals in and out of the classroom. She believes that academic excellence is not just based on achieving high grades but also on having a growth mindset.
Proctor-Smith enjoys every moment that is spent teaching her students. She also enjoys the flexibility of her work schedule because she gets to spend more time with her children.
Mrs.Proctor-Smith’s dedication and commitment to her students is beyond admirable. She demonstrates to students that life is not just about achieving good grades but also shaping them into becoming victorious adults.
Her hard work and enthusiasm can be the positive impact that teachers can make in their students’ lives.
