Soccer coaches bring back Leo Club
This year Chapman has a new club: the Leo Club, which had been a part of Chapman at point but eventually became inactive.
The club was started back up this year by head varsity boys soccer coach Will Maley and the JV boys soccer coach Caleb Crittendon.
According to Maley, the Leo Club is a high school version of the Lion’s Club, a group of people who focus on community service and service projects.
“It’s all about the kids helping back the community that helps and supports them,” said Maley. The members of the club are willing to help out and put others in front of themselves.
Crittendon believes it is a valuable club.
“It teaches members involved how to serve and not just take, but also give back,” he said.
Junior Michael Crawford said that his favorite part about the club is the people that are also involved, serving with friends is much more fun and exciting.
Although the club has not participated in much yet, Maley and Crittendon plan to continue to take part in many different activities and volunteer opportunities and encourage anyone to join and be a part of giving back.
