Chapman cheerleading is coming to an end Nov. 18. They have had a great and hard season so far. They recently won the region championship.
A lot has changed from the beginning of the season to now.
“I think we’re a lot more driven and we’ve just instilled the thought of being in a good mindset of winning and wanting to do better than previous times,” senior Bryce Lee said.
This is the seniors’ last competition season so it means a lot to them.
“It’s my senior year so I’m kind of realizing every comp is my last comp and all the little things need to be fixed and just an overall better score,” Lee said.
For most of the Chapman cheerleaders, their favorite thing about cheer is the family environment and how close everyone has become. They practice with each other every day except Wednesdays from 3:45-6 which helps their bond become stronger.
“I think we work better together as a team and we’ve learned a lot more about each other,” senior Mya Jackson said.
Competitive cheer is not just clapping your hands and chanting. It includes tumbling, jumps, pyramids, dance and stunts, which take a lot of strength and practice.
