Super Bowl 51 takes place Sunday
The time has come and another Super Bowl is upon us, except this time, there is an unfamiliar team representing the NFC in the big game.
The Atlanta Falcons have made it all the way and are looking to defeat the four time Super Bowl winning New England Patriots.
While the Patriots have been to the Super Bowl nine times, this is only the second appearance for the Falcons, who lost to the Denver Broncos in 1999. There is no doubt that they are the underdog of the matchup, but there is plenty of hope that they will hold the Patriots to only four championships.
This is the 51st Super Bowl, and it is likely to be an excellent game for fans around the world, and fittingly, Lady Gaga is set to perform the halftime show. And the game is being hosted in Houston.
Traditionally, a large amount of viewers watch the game for the humorous commercials that air during the game, but for me, the fact of history being made and another NFL season coming to a close is enough to make me not want to miss this one. I will definitely be cheering on the Falcons in their efforts, because it would be a pretty awesome sight to see them win their championship in franchise history.
But on the other side of things, this is a very important game for 75 year old Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who lost his wife to cancer, meaning that this would be a game heartfully dedicated to her life as the “First Lady” of the team.
So on Sunday Feb. 5, be sure to tune in at 6:30 to witness an awesome game and a more-than-likely extravagant halftime show that may or may not include clothing made of steaks.
