Due South provides good food and ambiance

Warm hands and gentle voices are splayed all across grainy wooden floors.

Chipped mugs clink against one another, and the sound of different colors come from each conversation in the room.

Small bouquets of buttercups quietly rest in the center of tables, and shattered sunlight drenches everyone’s face in golden hour.

Music lazily stirs in the background as readers stay tucked in the nooks of the coffee shop, taking in the scene as wallflowers.

Students hunch over homework sipping latte’s, while baristas bustle busily behind the counter.

This is Due South, a coffee shop made snug in a corner of the old Taylors Mill.

Studios occupy once-vacant rooms, making the entire place a vibrant place to create art.

Edison light bulbs and the aroma of espresso creates a cozy atmosphere for anyone looking for a quiet place to study.

The shop offers a variety of coffee, tea and pastries.

If you’re a first timer and unsure of what to order, my recommendation is a sugar latte paired with a cinnamon blueberry muffin.

One thing that separates the store from others is their use of locally sourced ingredients.

Due South is located on 250 Mill Street #4C in Taylors.

Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
