“Beauty and the Beast” is a beautiful combination of acting and music
2017: the year movie companies decided it was time to remake or continue some of their classics. Talk of “Cars 3”, “Despicable Me 3”, “Toy Story 4” and “Beauty and the Beast” had everyone soaring with excitement.
Recently, “Beauty and the Beast” began showing in theaters and people couldn’t wait to see it. Hearing ratings of 10 out of 10 and recommendations left and right, I decided to go see it myself.
The actors: Emma Watson, a wonderful actor who played the part of Belle beautifully; Luke Evans; perfectly portrayed the arrogant and egotistic character of Gaston; and Dan Stevens who, once he was no longer the Beast, was the exact image of Belle’s prince charming that everyone had in mind.
The music, an important component in any Disney movie: “Belle,” so specifically choreographed and put together; “Be Our Guest,” so bright, colorful and my personal favorite; and of course “Beauty and the Beast,” where everyone watched in awe as Belle, in her classic yellow dress, and the Prince finally get their happily ever after.
However, the messages throughout the movie were the best part.
“Do not be fooled by inside appearance, but it’s what’s inside that matters,” Agathe, the Enchantress that cast the spell on the castle, said.
Throughout the movie, Belle turns down the perfect, wealthy and handsome Gaston for the no-longer wealthy, furry Beast, all because of his charming and loving personality.
Belle also breaks through the stereotypical image of women. She’s described as “strange” for her love of reading and looked down because she isn’t married or looking for marriage. However, she doesn’t let it bother her, continuing on her passion whether or not it’s accepted by everyone.
And finally, kindness can get you further than anything else in life. Not wealth, good looks or trickery will get you true success.
Gaston tried to get Belle’s love by flaunting his wealth, good looks to try and even trying to get rid of her father. However, Belle still continued to push him away and fall in love with the Beast.
And the Beast was a Beast because of his hatred towards other people, only being turned back by loving another person.
All-in-all, I rate the “Beauty and the Beast” a 10 out of 10 in all aspects.
It was a beautiful movie with wonderful messages, actors and music that I would highly recommend to people of all ages.
