Chapman students have created numerous Instagram accounts to support sporting events, highlight the student section and spread school-related news. 

Junior Tripp Simmons is in charge of the account @chapman_fridays. Simmons said he created the account to help others. 

“(I created it) to help people get through the week and promote positivity,”  junior Tripp Simmons said when asked what inspired him to create the account @chapman_fridays. 

Junior Nathan Melton said that he created the account @pantherpatio to highlight an overlooked aspect of the school.

“(The school doesn’t always do a) good job of showcasing the student section and getting the word out about what’s going on, so I just made it for that reason,” Melton said.

As the account grew, Student Section Report (@studentsectrep) awarded Chapman with South Carolina’s Student Section of the Year. 

These accounts have not only benefited our school community, but also the people running them. 

“It’s been fun just seeing all the pictures of people and talking to people. I’ve talked to so many people that I would have never talked to otherwise,” Simmons said.
