Tennis has been a growing sport at Chapman, and this season they have high hopes.
Senior Matthew Davis is ready for the season.
“I’m ready (and the) team is ready, and the overall team goal is for us to at least make upper state and the whole goal is to make state because last year we were super close,” Davis said.
Coach Mark Lansing believes the team could be successful.
“The team has the potential to do big things this season, and the athletes are capable of doing big things,” Lansing said.
Davis is hoping for a great season with improvement.
“I’m hoping for a great season for me and my teammates, and I want all of us to improve as a team,” Davis said.
This is Lansing’s last year, and he wants to end on a good note.
“It would be great if we could end with an upper state championship or even more with a state championship. It would be a great note to end off on,” Lansing said.
Davis also would like something to end his high school career on.
“It would be nice to show a big title for the end of something I’ve been doing for a while,” Davis said.
