There are over 350 student drivers parking in the student parking lot, but the parking lot cannot hold that many drivers.
School Resource Officer Kyle Rios is now offering overflow parking for students who have early release to park in the back parking lot rather than in the student parking lot.
“It made sense that they didn’t have to deal with the 3:12 traffic to 3:30 because they leave at 2:00,” he said. “So I asked at least six or seven early release drivers if they could move to the back, and I just swapped out passes.”
Senior Georgia Clark does not agree with this decision.
“I had to wait to get a senior parking spot and then they took it pretty much,” Clark said.
Three to four student drivers a day are coming to get passes for the parking lot. There is no space for more students.
“I had to think logically and strategically how we can accommodate those drivers,” Rios said.
