Chapman teams in the playoffs
The Chapman Panthers are on the prowl and they are ready for state.
The fall athletic teams getting close to the end of the season and that means that they are now in playoffs, and some are on the way to state championships.
Chapman’s girls Cross Country team qualified at the upper state meet hosted at Woodmont High School on Oct. 28 and the girls will next run at Sandhills Research Center on Saturday, Nov. 4 for the chance to become state champions.
“It’s exciting and it’s a great accomplishment for our team,” Freshman Carley Wilson said.”It feels like a reward for all of our hard work throughout our summer workouts and the season.”
“It’s a dream come true for the girls,” Head Coach Rachel Edwards said. ”Saturday was the tenth anniversary of when I went to state, and now as a coach I can see and help the runners like my coaches did for me.”
“We just need to focus on winning every game one at a time,” Senior Quarterback Colton Bailey said, ”We just need to focus on playing together as a team and with that we will succeed.”
“The team understands the expectation we have set,” Head Coach Mark Hodge said.“We just need to continue to be more physical when we play.”
The volleyball team ended their undefeated season with a tough loss to Powdersville on Oct. 30.
All the teams have played their hardest and given it their all and Inman and the student body of Chapman High School have backed them through it all.
“I love seeing the school spirit that the students have and we hope that it continues,” Hodge said.
One thing is sure for the Panthers throughout this season: they have shown just how great Chapman is and how great they can become.
