Is “Black Ops Six” Zombies good? Is it worth buying? Those are the questions that every die-hard Zombies fan asks.
“Call of Duty” Zombies fans have been hanging on by a thread for the past decade. The last three installments of Zombies titles have been either lackluster or completely unplayable. Every fan has cried out to the developers to make zombies like they were in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Games such as “Black Ops 2” and “Black Ops 3” were the golden age of Zombies. Zombies was at its peak, and every player was hyped for the next map release.
I’m here to tell you those days aren’t completely over, but they’re not returning. It has been over a decade and Zombies is not going to be like it was before. Elements from Multiplayer and Warzone have slowly crept their way into the newer games, and as a community, we have to accept this because they aren’t changing it.
But the developers are listening. Certain things from the old games have returned such as a more simple hud, increased difficulty, and an old perk system.
“Black Ops 6” may not be exactly like the older games that every fan wants to return, but it’s a step in the right direction. The first map “Terminus” is an extremely unique experience with an intricate map design and stunning visuals which gives the map soul.
With soul being the scary and artistic atmosphere of the game and maps, the past Zombies game “Cold War” had no soul in all of its maps, and this was one of the biggest complaints from the community. With this being fixed, along with a plethora of changes for the better, I say that “Black Ops 6” is good. It’s fun. A Zombies veteran and a new player can both jump into a game and have a blast. The gameplay is smooth, fast-paced, and somewhat resembles old Zombies mechanics.
While some elements such as armor-plating and scorestreaks still exist in “Black Ops 6”, these can be overlooked due to all the positive changes made from the past game.
Zombies will never be what it once was, but it can be something else, something new. “Black Ops 6” offers a fresh and fun Zombies experience that allows old players to have fun with their friends playing the game that they grew up on.
Hating a game because it isn’t exactly like the old one is pointless, things in life evolve and the same thing goes for video games. As a community, we need to accept each game with an open mind and take every win we can get. And due to old mechanics returning, interesting maps, and the soul of Zombies being back, “Black Ops 6” is definitely a win.
