Over the years in South Carolina, certain high school programs in all sports have been known to win or make a deep run in the playoffs for their region and class.
This however has made some controversy with certain teams that have lower populations than bigger schools that go into a lower class which they do extremely well because all of the school population goes into extracurricular activities instead of the average high school student and is loaded with all athletes so they go into a lower class as an advantage for there teams which play extremely better than most all the time.
But the main question is how do you fix this problem and let certain schools in the state still compete for region and state championships?
One is you can look at what other bigger states do with their schools like Florida or California and group the schools that are prep and middle college schools and make their own class and make regions based on location and let them compete for state like that. But they would be able to go against normal schools just with no region or state implications.
The second way to fix this problem is to simply move them up a class or two so the competition isn’t too hard for smaller schools that shouldn’t have to go against a whole team of Divison-I college commits.
