When the final bell rings on a school day many students either walk to the carline, or to the student parking lot. However, many students walk to the bus where they could be waiting there for a long time.
I propose the idea of having a place for students to go where they could wait till their parents arrive to pick them up if they are running late and they do not want to ride the bus.
An after-school program could also be a source of learning for students who may not have time to study, or do schoolwork at home. An after-school program could potentially also allow students to go and talk to teachers about school work, or get extra help.
Not only could this program provide support for students but also for their parents. These programs could help parents who are not able to pick up their children. Helping the working parents could ensure children are cared for after hours.
