Many math teachers at Chapman love using Delta Math for their students to use to practice math. However, this isn’t always beneficial to students for various reasons.
One main reason Delta Math isn’t helpful is the computer that creates the math problems isn’t on the same level as the real teachers. The problems could be very easy or they could be harder than what students have learned in class. This can make completing the Delta Math more difficult as students might not be sure what to do next to finish a difficult problem. This can also not give students a difficult enough challenge if the problems are too easy and not give students a chance to improve.
Another disadvantage to Delta Math is the AI that’s in the computer. Sometimes the algorithm in Delta Math might want students to complete an extra step in the problem that students might not have learned yet. This can lead to frustration and failure to complete their Delta Math assignments.
In conclusion, Delta Math might be a great tool for many teachers to give to their students at some points, but their flaws and being unable to compete against real teachers makes them unfit to be able to be used in the classroom.
