On Feb. 11, the boys basketball team ended their regular season against Broome at home for senior night.
The game was an overtime thriller with game-tying buzzer-beaters and a constant back-and-forth for the whole entire game.
Broome won 78-71.
On this night, the team had three seniors to congratulate center Colt McAllister, center Johnny Poland and guard/forward Josiah Moore.
Senior Josiah Moore liked playing on Senior night because of the atmosphere
“It was fun and the way the crowd and atmosphere was, it was fun,” Moore said.
McAllister liked playing on senior night because of how the game went into overtime and it was against and former opponent
“We played Broome just like last year and overtime is always exciting,” he said. “Sometimes we give up in the fourth quarter but we just kept fighting.”
Poland enjoyed seeing the court on senior night.
“I love playing on senior night and being able to touch the court,” Poland said.
Senior Owen King who has been to all of the boy’s games has seen growth over the year.
“They have learned how to play together and really improve as a team over this season,” King said.
Josiah Moore’s favorite moment from the season was beating district rival Landrum
“My favorite moment from this season was beating Landrum at Landrum at the battle at the border tournament,” Moore said.
Despite a loss to Broome in the regular season, the boys defeated them in round one of the playoffs 66-49.
