Chapman’s spring break will be held from April 7-11.
Students will have a week off from school, with the benefit of going on various trips or simply resting at home.
Science teacher and boys basketball coach Jared St. Charles is visiting Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on his spring break.
“I’m excited to have a break,” he said. “I’m going to do some go-karts, mountain coasters, hiking and some outdoor stuff.”
After a long, chaotic semester everyone will be looking forward to having this break from the reality of school.
Compared to years before, this year’s spring break happens to fall later in the semester, and there are various opinions about this.
“I like having spring break a little later so that when we get back we don’t have that long until summer break,” St. Charles said. “I think it always needs to be in April because when I was in Florida it was the first of March, therefore we had a longer time until summer (when we got back).”
Sophomore Blane Ghent will be starting his spring break in Arizona where he will be visiting the Grand Canyon.
Later in the week, Ghent will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada, to see Carrie Underwood perform.
Like St. Charles, Ghent is unconcerned with the timing of spring breaks placement.
“I don’t think this break is too late because we got a lot of days off in January, a lot of e-learning days, and after spring break we are closer to summer break,” he said.
Sophomore Chase Jackson is spending part of his spring break in Panama City, Florida.
Contrary to what Jared St. Charles and Blane Ghent have to say, Jackson does not feel the same effects of a later spring break.
“I feel like they need to have a different break, like a week, in between Christmas and spring break because sometimes I can’t deal with people for that long period of time,” Jackson said.
