Recently, Chapman has acquired some new changes to their athletic facilities.
Since Chapman is growing in athletes, the athletic department thought it was time to remodel the weight room and purchase new equipment.
In the weight room, athletes now have new weights with the Chapman logo on them, and also new weight racks.
The next changes were made in the gym. Although the changes were not large, they were fairly noticeable.
Under the basketball goals, there is now a blocky Panther logo displayed as well as the two classrooms above the gym.
Outdoor sports such as baseball and softball also received changes to their fields. Some damage was done to the fields during Hurricane Helene, so this offseason, some things were replaced. The back fences have brand new backstop padding and new widescreens.
The baseball field also had its halo redone.
“The halo gives the field more character and makes it look better to the eye,” freshman baseball player Bradson Chasteen said.
According to Athletic Director Michael Pettit, there are some more changes the district has in the works including turf fields and additional buildings.
