Student Body President Gabe Perry

As his last semester is coming to a close, Student Body President Gabe Perry has accomplished many achievements at Chapman High School and is ready to start anew at college.

Perry’s choices for college are still a bit cloudy. “I’m not one hundred percent sure yet, but it’s down between Anderson and Presbyterian college,” Perry said.

He plans to major in science and to further his education in either dental or medical school.

As the president of student council, Perry gives advice to underclassmen, “Get involved, cause I think that once you get involved, you definitely push out of your comfort zone, which helps you grow as a better person, and you’re not afraid of what people will think.”

No matter how scared you are, Perry is a great role model for students wishing to grow their character at Chapman, whether it be student council or joining a new club.

Perry’s favorite part of being at Chapman was all the chances to be involved, and he took every single one of them.

“I loved every single moment of my presidency here at Chapman,” Perry states. “The title can seem very intimidating, but I live by the words of ‘be a man, not a title’. Having the ability to serve and grow as a leader has been a complete honor. I have created so many relationships with the students, faculty, and staff that I will forever cherish.”

Perry has pushed himself out of his comfort zone in order to achieve greatness. His curiosity for the unknown led him to the character he built of himself since freshman year.

“I have made my high school years worth my while. I am proud of all the things I have accomplished in my 4 years at Chapman. Truthfully I will miss everything about high school,” Perry said. “I hope to leave a lasting impact and legacy on Chapman, just like it has done to me.”
