FCA brings Madness back to Chapman
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a very important part of our school from the Thursday meeting in the auditorium all the way to fun-filled events and activities that they host.
On Friday, there will be a “March Madness” student versus faculty basketball game in the gym during 4th block.
In order for your class to come, they must raise at least $25 total, and all proceeds will go to Relay for Life and FCA. This will mean that your class can go down to the gym at 2:00.
The game will also include a couple mini-games such as a 3-point shootout, knockout, and a half-court shot competition that will represent students from each grade level. All students are welcome to participate in the half-court shot and the cost to enter is only $1.The winner will win a cash prize.
Senior Jacob Morris is participating in the game for the first time and will be one of the coaches in the game.
“I feel like it is important for students and faculty to have events like this, and it builds good relationships between them,” Morris said.
The stout list of players in the game will be headlined by Ryan Mandlove, Johnny Rhode, Drew Sloan and Brock Frisbee for the teachers while the students will be starring Shaundre Miller, Mikele Colasurdo, Dashun Mitchell, and Breana Mabry.
Junior Kaleb Harris will be a player in the game and he is excited to play with teachers for the first time.
“Events like this get people involved and make them want to care about school where normally they may not have to chance”
Orchestra director Jeanette Kuhn helped organize the game and is very happy to help put something together that is for a good cause and helps so many people.
“We hope faculty and students are excited to bring back this fun event to our school and I can’t think of a better way to kick off spring break.”
Your donation will support the student journalists of Chapman High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
