“Grey’s Anatomy” capturing, saving lives for 15 years
Shonda Rhimes, creator of “Grey’s Anatomy”, has sent fans on a roller coaster of emotions for the past 15 seasons and is still leaving fans on the edge of their seats. Fifteen seasons full with a mixture of joy, sadness and anger is what “Grey’s” has brought fans through 13 years of airing.
“Grey’s Anatomy” is an ABC medical drama based in Seattle, Washington. The series began on March 27, 2005, with a group of medical interns beginning a new journey at Seattle Grace Hospital. Meredith Grey, daughter of famous surgeon Ellis Grey, begins a new part of her life and has no idea what is to come.
Through 13 years of television, Grey faced tragedy and happiness that shaped her into the surgeon that she is today.
Throughout the show, Grey learns more about herself, her family and her love life. She faces tragedy and loss alongside happiness and joy.
Season 15 of “Grey’s Anatomy” returned on Jan. 17, 2019 with a bang. A horrendous wind storm traps members of Seattle Grace at the hospital without power and an overflow of patients.
Season 15 continues to showcase Grey’s growth as a surgeon, while also letting fans into the more motherly side of her and her family.
“Grey’s” is a show that is constantly evolving throughout time. Characters come and go, the plot line changes and controversial topics are tackled throughout the story.
Ethical and racial tensions change the plot and also give characters reasons to come and to go. Shonda Rhimes incorporates her views in “Grey’s” without caring what others have to say about her decision or her show.
Shonda Rhimes uses a television show to bring light to what is wrong in the world and draws the audience in, leaving viewers on the edge of their seat with each episode. For this, I commend her and hope that “Grey’s Anatomy” continues beyond 2019.
