Fall into the Upstate

This fall, you don’t have to go far to enjoy the beautiful scenery and have family fun. Here are five things to do this fall as well as two places to do each of them:

  1. Visit a corn maze and take a hayride
    1. Strawberry Hill offers a corn maze along with hayrides around the pumpkin patch open from Sept. 21 until Nov. 3. Open every Saturday and Sunday, the corn maze is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and the hayride from 10 to 5. Entrance into the corn maze is $14 per person and the hayride is $10. 
    2. Denver Downs Farm offers a 10 acre corn maze open from Sept. 28 until Nov. 10th. Weekend tickets are offered for $17.50 and weekday tickets are offered for $12.50. 
  2. Attend a festival
    1. The Piedmont Interstate Fair is held at Piedmont Fairground from Oct. 7 – Oct. 13. Admissions start at $10. 
    2. Fall for Greenville is held in downtown Greenville from Oct. 11 – Oct. 13. Tickets are sold in sheets of ten tickets for $5 and can be used to purchase food, beverages and attractions for the entire weekend. 
  3. Go trick or treating 
    1. Boo in the Zoo is held at Greenville Zoo from Oct. 18 – Oct. 20 and Oct. 25 – 27. Go through the zoo while trick or treating in your favorite costume. 
    2. Halloween Hoopla is being held at Greer City Park on Oct. 26 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Enjoy inflatables, carnival games and trick or treating all for free!
  4. Pick a pumpkin
    1. Pick the perfect pumpkin for carving or creating a delicious dessert at Greyrock Farms in Moore. Take a tour of the dairy farms and learn what it is like to harvest pumpkins. Greyrock Farms is open from the beginning of September until the end of October. 
    2. Stewart Farms offers pumpkins at 60 cents a pound alongside of wagon rides around the farm. Daytime rides are $4 per person and night time rides are $6 and per person. Stewart Farms is open Friday, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m, Saturdays 10 a.m – 10 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
