Football team stays hopeful
The Chapman football team has worked hard throughout the summer, and now it’s time to see how the hard work will pay off.
Despite a tough start to the season, the team has potential.
Head coach Harry Cabaniss thinks the team will be very successful in the region.
“We have a tough non-region schedule to get us prepared for the region which will allow us to make a run in the playoffs,” Cabaniss said.
“I think if we keep practicing, and keeping our good spirits, I think we will have a good team and have a good chance,” junior Harrison Bridges said.
Cabaniss said that JV is looking good as well.
“The JV has been practicing more than they have ever been practicing before which will allow them to be more prepared and successful,” Cabaniss said.
One of the challenges facing varsity this year is that the team does not have many seniors.
“We are really young in some spots we haven’t been young before,” Cabaniss said.
“We do have some seniors, we do have some strong seniors, but we only have a few that are playing both ways,” sophomore Issac Tucker said.
“We are not very big in size as a whole, and we don’t have a lot of seniors; we have mostly juniors that are the spotlight on the team so that is a limitation we will have to overcome in this CHS football season,” sophomore Johnny Poland said.
