New teacher lands in the math department

A new teacher has landed in the math department.

Alex Land grew up in Fort Mill and attended Nation Ford High School.

In high school, Land was involved in many student activities.

“Since my dad was the track coach, of course I was involved in track and cross country,” Land said.

She was an active member of the band for all four years and was a member of the Beta Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

After high school, Land enrolled at North Greenville University where she majored in math. During her college years, Land was just as involved as she was in high school.

She worked in the admissions office, was a Prospective Student Leader and a part of the Baptist Student Union.

Today, Land likes to stay busy and fills her free time with a mix of activities such as riding bikes, watching TV and reading. She said she also enjoys apple picking.

Land’s students admire her teaching.

“She is a great teacher and she is a very good explainer with the subjects she teaches,” freshman Hannah Cason said.

Students admire not only how she teachers but also how she interacts with them.

“She’s very kind and lets us be ourselves,” freshman Bailey Condrey said.
