Chapman Youth Council to help revitalize Inman

The town of Inman is counting on Chapman students to help revitalize the town.

Inman Mayor Cornelius Huff brought the idea of a Youth Council to Chapman, and English teachers Casey Nunnemaker and Susan Hall have been chosen to head the new program.

Applicants have a few requirements they have to meet to qualify. The first requirement includes the ability to devote time.

Students have to be able to give their time to be able to do projects around Inman and help at any time it is needed.

Students also have to be able to lead and be outspoken.

However, not just anybody can apply.

Only juniors and seniors can put in applications. Being in the Youth Council also involves an extremely important one year commitment that you have to stand by. The one-year commitment is very important in being a part of the Youth Council.

Dedication is very important and Nunnemaker stresses it greatly.

“Dedicating your time is very important if you want to be on the council,” she said.

“I really want to be a part of helping and bringing ‘life’ back to our town,” said one applicant, who must remain anonymous.

The students who are accepted will play an important role in Inman.

“The Youth Council is commissioned to revitalize the town of Inman,” Nunnemaker said. “Students will be able bring back a spark to our town.”

Nunnemaker also mentioned that the Youth Council will help the school by bringing pride and morale back to our school.”

Members for Youth Council will be chosen by Huff, Nunnemaker and Hall.
