Chapman’s Broadway and Beyond

Chapman held their annual Broadway and Beyond on Thursday, November 16th.

Broadway and Beyond is a special event held every fall here at Chapman. Students in Chamber Singers, Choralation, and Concert Chorus all get a chance to show the audience what they are made of.

This year, there were eight solos, two duets, and three group performances. One of the duets included The Prowl’s very own senior Kyle Wilson singing Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, with senior William Thorne on guitar.

“I feel great about my performance,” Thorne said. “Kyle was fantastic, I was blown away.” However, he is quite “melancholic” about it being his last Broadway and Beyond performance.

“I would love for ‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice If We Were Older’ by the Beach Boys to be performed at a future Broadway,” he said.

Freshman Landon Ash was also very pleased with his first Broadway.

“It was fun and exciting; I really enjoyed it,” Ash said. “I will be doing it again, and maybe even do my own solo, I would really love to do Aladdin in the future,” he said.

After the concert was over,  drinks and desserts were served to the guests. “It is supposed to be like a dessert theatre, but since we can’t have food in the auditorium, we serve it after,” said Chorus teacher Rebecca Rostron. She was very pleased with how the performance went.

“It was very balanced and everything went smoothly.”

Chapman’s Chorus did a fantastic job with their Broadway and Beyond performance, and they left the crowd feeling “blessed and beyond,” as stated by Chorus member Enajah Mccluney.
