Seniors are going to Disney World

Well, it’s that time of year again, and the seniors of Chapman are going to Disney World and Universal Studios! This will be my first time going to either park and this time it won’t be a trick.

When I was eight, my great grandma and my grandma told me we were going to Disney World, and we ended up going to the bank. I never thought about it much then, but it really got to me when I was about 12.

Now that I really do have a chance to go, I couldn’t be anymore excited, and I’m not the only one.

“I can’t wait to go on this trip,” senior Jamie Means said. “It’s going to be lit.”

That has essentially been the response from everyone going on the trip, and the consensus is it’ll be a lot of fun. Why wouldn’t it be?

The one thing I’m looking forward to the most are the roller coasters. I’ve only been to one park to ride roller coasters and that was Dollywood, so now I’m ready to move onto even more exciting rides.

I’m not even sure which each one is exactly, but I’m looking to attend the scariest rides there. “Yeah I can’t wait to get on the Incredible Hulk ride when we get there,” senior Forrest Wilson said.

I’m also a huge Spider-man fan, so taking a picture with him is a priority.

Then I’ve heard of building your own lightsaber and if I can afford to buy it, I’m definitely mailing it back home.

The cost of souvenirs and food is really the only downside, but that is hard to hold against going to two of the best theme parks in the world.

“I don’t really see a negative in going to Disney World, especially with all my friends,” senior Dillon Ramsey said. “I’ve been before, (and) everyone’s going to love it.”

English teacher and senior sponsor Drew Timmons unfortunately won’t be able to attend this trip as he usually does due to his wife purposely planning to have a baby during the trip. Coincidence? Probably not.

He’ll be missed.

Anyway we will now have physical education teacher Brandon Mullins attending in place for him.

“It’s tough that he can’t go, but my wife had a baby not too long ago, and you want to be there for her,” Mullins said.

The trip has been much anticipated ever since the first payment, and it’s time to go have a great experience. It’s a time to bond with classmates, get out of school and enjoy the best theme park available. I, the seniors and even the adults can wait to have a great time at Disney World.

And it’s not just us.

“I’m ready to go man,” Mullins said. “You ready?”
