Distracted driving is dangerous driving

When most people get into their car and begin driving, they often do something that puts not only their own life at risk but also the life of every other person they encounter during their drive.

There are many forms of distracted driving, and it is almost impossible to say which one is worse than the other, but it can include using a cell phone, eating or drinking, applying makeup or even using your car’s navigation system.

An analysis provided by the CDC found that 18 percent of all car accidents are primarily caused by distracted driving while an astounding 78 percent of those accidents were due to texting and driving.

It is also evident that the issue is not getting any better due to the fact that everything is more available in a handheld form and our cell phones have more functionality than our computers did just one decade ago.

This means that people are going to be doing more things from their cell phone even if they are driving down the road.

Distracted driving is very difficult to mandate due to the fact of just how easy it is to do while driving. There are already laws in place in most states that make it illegal to text and drive, but unfortunately, there is no way for authorities to catch every occurrence of it.

It is up to you whether or not you choose to put your life, your kids’ lives or even someone else’s life in danger

I believe that you should treat it just like you would a seatbelt. You wear a seatbelt to save your self in the event of an accident. Well, why not prevent the accident altogether?

So just think about it each and every time that you are driving and you hear your phone buzz. Just focus on the most important thing which is getting to your destination safely and not doing anything that gets in the way of that.

Besides, driving is already dangerous enough. The best thing that you can do is to be aware of the other motorists around you and make the choice to drive safely.
